Concerts of Sephardic music were a rare occurrence when
we began 22 years ago. By now, literally hundreds of thousands of people
- children and adults - have been introduced to this music for the first

After so many years of living with these
traditions, the musicians of Voice of the Turtle continue to appreciate
the richness of Sephardic history and culture, enjoy the aesthetic qualities
of this music, and regularly are reminded of the value of preserving and
protecting cultural traditions of all communities away from their country
of origin. Our concerts and recordings are designed to reflect these important
perspectives. Welcome to our Website. We invite you to visit us regularly to share some of the pleasures and challenges of working with oral traditions. The group has produced twelve recordings and is currently working on two new releases |
